An Open Mind is The Key To The Universe: What We Can Learn From Butterflies
Something About Butterflies
Butterflies are beautiful creatures aren’t they? They are an artistic and illustrative emblem in the symbolism of peace and tranquility. I remember a scene in the Transformers movie franchise, I think The Maximals, where an Autobot was running late to a meeting with the others. When he finally arrived, he said in his words, through a solemn Mexican accent: “I am sorry, my friends, I was delayed while observing the simplicity in the physical movement and metabolism of a caterpillar and a butterfly—such tranquility.”
There it is. Once in a while, we humans, as creatures seeking beauty for entertainment, find ourselves awestruck and locked in the observation and comprehension of the enthralling elements of creation. Butterflies, especially wild butterflies with their multi-colored plumage, can dazzle us with their impeccable beauty and subtle movements.
So we begin, but wait, where is the connection between this “messianic glorification” of butterflies and the key to the universe which is inadvertently the essence of this read.
Hmmm… hold on… I think that… I might just… be feeling… Lol... No.Receiving. YES, New Ideas

One More Thing About Butterflies
Of course butterflies are beautiful creatures, There is actually more, I think, in the use of butterflies as symbols. A butterfly goes through different stages of evolution and when it is set to emerge from its larvae stage it sheds its cocoon and lifts off into the surrounding environment with the sheer beauty of emergence, liberation and manifestation. This final event of breaking free carries a strong spiritual connotation and signals an omen, surely a good one.
You will permit me to make a movie detour once again, and trust me, it is for the benefit of buttressing our context with an accompanying visual power.. Please follow me closely
In the movie titled Kung Fu Hustle, you may have seen it, as it is a martial arts epic that premiered at the dawn of the 21st century—specifically, the early 2000s. In the last fight between the protagonist and the villain, Toad Man, there is a scene where Toad Man observes a butterfly that has just newly emerged from its cocoon. His demeanor shows that he understands the omen as a sign that a soul has just been born anew, meaning the protagonist has undergone a significant transformation of self, and the odds of the final battle have shifted. Well, the movie ends with the protagonist manifesting a new dimension of self awareness which affords him invoking the buddha palm and blasting the toadman into the earth. So, clearly, the butterfly omen was to suggest that the protagonist evolved into his true self and was able to access great power within him that lay untapped all this while.
Lol. So much for butterflies
Well, Snap!!!. Let's bring ourselves back to reality by shifting our concentration from the dreamy enchantment of the potential of butterflies in the symbolic plane of tranquility and spiritual transformation. It may be quite obvious to you now that I am trying to draw parallels between the figurative attributes of butterflies and the results of incorporating …. Wait.. One moment
Awwww…. Oh No!!!It's happening again…Another Idea… my loving reader, let us do this again and please be patient to know that all this is happening for the good of the end.
One Last thing about butterflies
The subtleness with which they skimp and glide. They don't move too fast and they don't move too slow. The finesse of how they flap their brittle wings in quick succession to stay afloat and how they flex their plumage when they finally land on a target spot to chill. Butterflies are glorious objects of radiance, freedom and peace. They seem to do everything easy be it sourcing for food, movement or any other clear characteristic of natural metabolism.
Butterflies don't clearly evade or exhibit fear. They are never frantic and i personally feel that the reason why humans are enchanted with the sight of butterflies is because there is a part of us within that resonates with the radiance, freedom and peace they exhibit and, this part of us within yearns for the manifestation of these virtues, more like answering the call to home.
I once read the whatsapp status of someone that said “Nature does not rush but gets everything done in its own time”. This statement echoes the simplicity, gentleness and ease that creation embodies and we can feel this ease within us in our most relaxed breathing and when we comprehend the elements of nature like the breeze, vegetation and the clouds.
Nature loves ease; nature is easy. I guess Nature might just be friends with butterflies.
Ahhh! Enough with all the… well, they are not embellishments, actually, but factual admirations. Anyways, my dear reader, let's delve so i dont bore you with too much glossing that entertains but doesn't empower or enlighten. Hence, I want to feel like I can promise you that there will be no more butterfly detours. I want to feel like I can promise.
Let's go!!!

What is the key to the Universe?
I will be direct this time. The key to the universe is that we humans are beautiful products of creation that are privileged with free moral agency and the priceless power of choice. We are here to expand the frontiers of creation by creating more beauty in the world. How do we do this? Yes, by being grateful for the beauty we enjoy, by embodying the beauty in our essence and then radiating it outwards for the service of inspiring other humans to become the same in their own version of themselves.
Which of you has a lamp a house and puts it under a bushel, no you put the light where there can be illumination in the whole house
Let your light shine so that people can see the glory of your father in you.
Christian Biblical Scriptures
This definition above might seem a little too closed ended or invasively opinionated due to different religious or spiritual polarities that many of us subscribe to as a result of the different conditionings we have received. But i would like to convince you my dear reader that the definition you have read above is a culmination of all the philosophical outcomes that all religions in the world have to offer i.e - A union with GOD.
It would be reasonable as a result of the universality of the human experience to not equate GOD with any particular object, deity or personality but as a totality of creation. The singular life source and energy generator of creation that is embodied in all things and manifestations.
Why is this definition legitimate? Because it conveniently answers the question of humanity from all diversity, race and religion. This definition makes perfect sense to anyone who has never been to a church, mosque or temple. It makes sense because it is clear to see, perceive and resonate by a clear, non biased or conditioned open mind. This definition brings us all together because the elements that comprise it are universally comprehensible: freedom, beauty, service.
The key to the universe as we have defined revolves around the intricacies of beauty, that we perceive beauty, embody it and in gratitude radiate it outward. This process is not actually as easy as it sounds because just like what it is.. A process, it sure takes time and it takes growth. If it is to take growth then it means that learning has to be involved. The type of learning that would be involved for this beauty would be one which does not instruct the learner but involves and engages the learner to attain realizations for themselves that is.. They have to know, not because their parents, friends, schools or religion told them but because they are able to personally realize or experience that which they have to know. This learning process for sure takes an open mind because beauty can only happen as a genuine manifestation of the unique signature-in-creation of an individual. It will take an open mind for this to be.

What is necessarily an open mind?
An open mind is what it is, it is what we're born with. It is the blank state of our consciousness before we started picking up information about our environment, traits from the first people we were in contact with and the non verified information fed to us through socio-cultural, academic and religious institutions. This is not to say that social, academic and religious institutions are wrong in their dispositions but to say that many of the information propagated from this institutions do not patronize the self experience and realization of an open mind
An open mind is one that tries to rationalize what is being told or taught from a personal realization perspective and the continuous readiness to evaluate what it thinks it previously knew on the premise of logic, rationality, practicality and experiential validation. An open mind is always ready to challenge its ideological and philosophical foundations in the quest of empowering itself with the immutable truth. So an open mind just as much as it implies is always ready to learn, explore and grow, it does not hold itself back with the chains of sentiment, bias or dogma.
An open mind does not know by believing but knows by realizing or experiencing.
The truth cannot be taught or told but can only be realized and experienced- Enyinnaya
Just as has been emphasized in the ending of the above section before this one. Beauty needs an open mind

How does an Open Mind Afford us This Key
An open mind helps us to evolve into complete versions of ourselves. This complete version is one whose thoughts, ideologies and rationalizations are rooted in the infinite immutability of the truth of creation rather than hinging one’s thought process on the result of another man’s or group thinking which can clearly be seen in religious and cultural indoctrination.
An open mind helps the individual function from a place of properly grounded self confidence in the realized knowledge that they embody and this makes the individual ready to grow into the next stage of their evolution. The growth experienced by the individual is one which naturally gravitates them to their wholeness of self and personality i.e becoming more in tune with their original version of self which by default is beautiful
The key to the universe which we have recognized as helping creation expand in its beauty is only attainable when we are able to find ourselves and know where we belong in the universe through our self expression that manifests freedom, radiance and peace. In order to be free, and able to glow from our natural essence and find peace within we need to be open minded to be able to go on our personal journey to find Our Own Truth which is a natural function of our own personal observation, deduction and realization.
This is the reason why we should continue seeking, searching and asking
Doubt Everything, Find Your Own Light. -- Buddha
In some religions and modern day social constructs that rely on wielding power to exist, an open mind seems like an abomination, or even blasphemy in some religious settings. Objectively reasoning, we should ask… WHAT IS THE CRIME OF AN OPEN MIND?
If an open mind was what we came with originally, then what crime is there in occasionally engaging it to filter our thought process and see whether we are thinking properly? Afterall we had an open mind before we adopted any ideologies or philosophies. So why would anything be wrong with an open mind? After all if the mind was not open we wouldn't have been able to adopt these ideologies in the first place
The Foundations of Self Realized Truths Are Indestructible because they form a part of the individual’s experience rather than believing stories which might have been the product of another person’s sentiment, imagination or worse still Mental Illness.
With the continuous engagement of an open mind, we continue evaluating perspectives, learning from realizations, growing into better versions of ourselves until we find complete Union with Creation/Nature/God

The Responsibility of Transformation
When we realize certain truths from our faculties of observation, we become more in tune with nature and we naturally understand certain laws that are at work. At this point, we don't need to be instructed about anything but naturally find ourselves exhibiting virtues because we have come to the knowledge that we are “One with the Universe”. In this light, what religion describes as SIN becomes more of self sabotage as perceived by the individual because they know that an injury to creation is an injury to self.
With this realization comes the natural responsibility to become better versions of ourselves and contribute in service to continue the beautiful good work of creation by creating more beauty in the world.
With the Law of Reciprocity in place, we find out that we receive the capacity to create more beauty the more we create with the ability that we currently possess.

A Final Note on Butterflies
Ooooooooo!!! Here we go again…
Arrrghhh.. I thought I promised you that I would not make any butterfly discourse anymore.
Ahem.. I’m sorr….
WAIT!!!
Did I really promise you that? Hahaha No I Didn't. Check the words carefully, they say that “I want to feel like i can promise” they didn't say a direct “ I promise”
I guess I was able to get you for this last time by doing what lawyers do, masking hidden intentions behind strategic wordplay.
A final note on butterflies. My dear reader, I know we have come this far and you have done a great job by devoting your attention. But, I also want to feel like I have done quite a good job in entertaining and enlightening you for which I should console myself that I deserve your attention regardless of how trifling I have been with you since we started communicating. This final one on butterflies is truly the final one and I promise you that it will be short.
Butterflies are beautiful creatures, yes, we have gone through all that, but did you notice how we have been able to draw parallels between the virtues of creation and the nature of butterflies. Butterflies are beautiful but they at first weren’t always beautiful. They had to go through a painstaking process of evolution that took time and patience before they could blossom. The butterfly goes through four stages of evolution which have their own personal characteristics and life form. Of course the final stage is the colorful creature that skimps and glides and flexes its plumage wings when it settles.
Same can be said of the evolutionary process which we humans have to go through before we can manifest the beautiful versions of ourselves. This process of course is painstaking and also surely takes time but the end

The Key to the Universe is Beauty, And we can only attain this beauty when we find our union with GOD. But we can't find this authentic and unfiltered union with God without our own personal accord and experience. This authentic and unfiltered union can only be attained if we learn on own personal terms of realization and THIS CAN ONLY BE ATTAINED WITH AN OPEN MIND
Beauty and Godspeed to you on your journey my dear reader. I love you infinitely.
BLISS
To know is not to appear to know but to know that there is a lot left unknown
